New Zealand Costume Competition
DVD buyers have a shot at the prize.
11 July, 2008
It's not just Lord of the Rings fans who have it good in New Zealand. Oh no. Sure, you may have Hobbiton just up the road, and have a great view of Mount Doom from your bedroom window, but this is the first time you've had the chance to win an authentic Red Dwarf costume!
The BBC-run competition launches on July 21st and runs until August 18th. Purchase any Red Dwarf DVD - including the recently-released Bodysnatcher Collection - from a branch of Whitcoulls and you can enter the prize draw for Danny John-Jules' actual Cat costume from all-time classic episode Polymorph!
The fur is the only thing that's faux in this grand opportunity to win a true piece of Red Dwarf history. The costume has been donated by The Prop Store of London, who source all their lovely Dwarf items direct from Grant Naylor Productions. (Check their website for more.) The costume will be displayed in the window of Whitcoulls' largest store on Queen Street, Auckland.
Coupled with a great price reduction on all eight series, plus Beat the Geek - see the poster pictured - there's never been a better time to tug on your mithril sweater, grab Red Dwarf on DVD, then settle down in front of the TV with a nice flagon of mead. Or something.
New Zealand DVDs can also be purchased via our Merchandise section.
