Dimension Jump XIV
21st-23rd September, 2007
Peterborough Holiday Inn
It's hard to know where to start with Dimension Jump XIV. The official Red Dwarf convention will have the hotel to itself this year - making it such a dense concentration of Dwarfers and Smeggies that some kind of weird fan black-hole could be created.
After the massive success of last year's DJ it's hardly going to come as a surprise that places are much in demand. But club chairman James Bull assures us that there are still rooms available.
It was previously announced that Rob Grant would be attending, after an eleven-year absence, and we all thought that was pretty much as cool as it gets. But apparently there's more to come.
With Robert 'Kryten' Llewellyn already confirmed, the Fan Club have now announced David 'Kryten' Ross for the weekend!
David, as you all know, was the original Kryten in the Series II episode of the same name, and was all set to play the part full-time until... well, why don't you ask him? The actor returned in 1991 to voice Talkie Toaster, weirdly doing to John Lenahan what Robert Llewellyn had done to him!
Speaking from DVD and Mr Flibble interview experience, we can confirm that David is a joyful storyteller and is going to be a positive boon for Dimension Jump.
Hattie Hayridge is also confirmed this year, yet another Dwarf actor who's technically played two parts and replaced another actor in a role - what is it with this show? Plus we have Danny John-Jules - who, thankfully, only plays one part, lest he become even more confused with his lines.
Oh, and the FX boys - including Mike Tucker himself - will be back in for the long haul, flooding the joint with stories, hilarity and crimes against fashion.
Word from the club is that a couple of rather impressive DJ-based competition prizes will be up for grabs in the new (and final) issue of Better Than Life magazine. Not a member? Subscribe!
