Norm Fought The Law
And the law won. Probably. Mr Lovett's in The Bill - and Danny's in a cowboy hat!
10 June, 2005
Our cast do get around when they're left unattended. As Craig Charles prepares to be seen as a regular in Coronation Street (June 20th, people, make a note), Norman Lovett is returning to The Bill.
He's playing the part of a fence (Lovett voice: 'Wooden, not chain-link. Sturdy, two coats of varnish') called Johnny McGuill in an episode screening on Wednesday, 22nd June at 8pm on ITV. Those of you with good memories - or the ability to use our News Archive - may recall that Norm also appeared in the cop show back in March of 2002 as a travelling salesman.
Norman has also been inadvertently causing chaos on the internet thanks to a rumour begun by a fan on the Internet Movie Database that he would play the part of the Dalek leader in the final Doctor Who story of the new series. "I haven't a clue where this rumour came from that I was to play Davros (whoever he is) in the final episode of Doctor Who!" the man himself told reddwarf.co.uk. Shame - a deadpan Davros could have been funny...
Danny John-Jules, meanwhile, has been busy with Shabuku Films on their new project The Tournament. No details on Dan's assassin character, but they say a picture speaks a thousand words:
The synopsis is as follows: Every ten years in an unsuspecting town, The Tournament takes place. A battle royale between 40 of the world's deadliest assassins. The last man standing receiving the $10,000,000 cash prize and the title of World's No. 1, which itself carries the legendary million-dollar-a-bullet price tag. All fights are monitored 24hrs a day on redirected CCTV cameras and broadcast secretly to a ring of high stake billionaire gamblers.
Which, frankly, sounds excellent! You can link to the website via Links for more details and a trailer - but be warned the photo gallery includes some nudity! (Sadly not Danny's...)
