Mass Distraction
Craig Charles launches a new show on ITV1.
9 April, 2004
It's been a long time since we've seen Craig Charles hosting a chat show, but all that's about to change. Following a stint on The Big Breakfast, not to mention the late night show Funky Bunker, Craig will be returning to the format with Weapons of Mass Distraction. Going out on Friday nights at 12:05am (so yes, technically Saturday morning) on ITV1, the show promises a mix of music, guests and comedy.
But that's not the end of the story. Right now, the show is looking for audience members for recordings on April 15th, April 28th and May 12th. Filming takes place at the brand-new Hospital TV Studios in London's Covent Garden, and there will actually be two shows recorded each night. More dates in May and June are likely to follow, with the possibility that the series may have a 30 episode run!
In other Craig news, the Scouse menace will be attending the Memorabilia fair once again at the Birmingham NEC on April 17th and 18th. Along with Robert Llewellyn, he'll be signing once again on behalf of The Stamp Centre (link available via Links).
...Which reminds us. The Stamp Centre's latest little bit of funky Dwarfendise - three bottle stoppers in the guises of Red Dwarf, Starbug and Kryten - are now available in the Red Dwarf Shop. Three bits of news crammed into one story - quite the achievement, we're sure you'll agree!
If you'd like to attend a recording of Weapons of Mass Distraction - and if you're over 18 - you can contact Applause Store Productions through their website (available via Links).
