Rock The Cradle
The second Tomb Raider movie, featuring Chris Barrie, arrives in cinemas.
15 August, 2003
Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life may feature one of the ugliest acronyms in cinematic history (LCTR:TCOL), but it also features the man who made Rimmer what he is... take that however you like. Yes, Chris Barrie is reprising his role as Hilary in the action adventure film, which opens in the UK on Friday, August 22nd.
Also back for the second film - which opened in the US on July 25th - are Angelina Jolie as the title character, and Noah Taylor as Brice. Other than that, it's a whole new team, which includes new director Jan De Bont - the director of Speed who must be hoping to right the wrongs of The Haunting and Speed 2. It could happen, too, with a screenplay from Dean Georgaris - shortly to be scripting Mission: Impossible 3 for Tom Cruise - Die Hard's Steven E. De Souza and Contact's James V. Hart.
The Indiana Jones-esque story follows Lara's quest for Pandora's Box before it is discovered by a scientist (played by Ciarán Hinds) who intends to harness its dark powers. Will our heroes stop him? Hmm - does Lara have an unfeasibly pneumatic bosom?
