Carry On Kennedy
From Red Dwarf to Red Cap - the former Hudzen 10 makes his mark in BBC1's new drama.
31 January, 2003
Gordon Kennedy, who at one time was to be found strutting around Red Dwarf with a shotgun and oiled nipples as deranged mechanoid Hudzen 10, has swapped comedy for drama in BBC1's top-rated drama Red Cap.
Also starring former-Eastender Tamzin Outhwaite, the programme was created by Patrick Harbinson (Soldier Soldier, Sharpe, Hornblower). Gordon plays Sergeant Hornsby in the series of thrillers that goes behind the curtain of a specialist military police team based in Germany.
Gordon Kennedy is perhaps best known for his role as a founding member of comedy crew Absolutely, but following a great many comedy, animation (you may have heard him on the Rob Grant script-edited show Stressed Eric) and presenting roles, he has become more and more involved with drama. Recent appearances range from The Announcement, a movie written by and starring another Absolutely member and former Dwarfer, Morwenna Banks, to Where The Heart Is and Glasgow Kiss. You can catch Red Cap on BBC1 on Tuesdays at 9pm.
