Red Dwarf's guest stars are popping up everywhere!
15 December, 2000
It's been a busy time for Red Dwarf alumni - they're popping up all over the place like space mumps!
Robert Bathurst, who played Todhunter in the very first Red Dwarf episode, The End, has been starring in ITV's smash comedy-drama Cold Feet. Now on its third season, Robert's character, David Marsden, has been embarking on an extra-marital affair - a habit that, according to Lister, he shares with his Red Dwarf character, Todhunter.
Meanwhile over on BBC1, Cassandra actress Geraldine McEwan has been starring with Nicholas Lyndhurst in the blackly comic Thin Ice, a one-off drama. In an unexpected but inspired piece of casting, Geraldine played Violet Gerome, the leader of a gangland crime family who enlists the help of Lyndhurst's corrupt, arrogant doctor when her son is shot during a robbery.
Other pieces of guest-star business include Jane Horrocks releasing an album continuing the impersonations she showed such a talent for in the movie Little Voice.
