Found aboard the Trojan and installed on Red Dwarf as a replacement for the sadly out-of-commission Holly, Pree's Predictive Behaviour Technology quickly proved as troublesome as it was useful. Although she pre-empted Rimmer's request to repair assorted faults on B-deck, she had also pre-empted his own woeful inefficiency at doing so, and replicated it accordingly.

Her commitment to logic and efficiency meant that upon the resignation of Lister from the Space Corps, having fired him out of an airlock she sought to safely remove the now-defunct ship from existence by steering it into the nearest sun. Fortunately, Lister was able to update his personnel file as "Lister Jr." in the nick of time, with Pree concluding that the most logical method by which to carry out her obligation to protect JMC crew was to shut down her own CPU.

Of course, it could be speculated that she had herself predicted, and thus brought about, this entire course of events all along...
