Hogey The Ro-Guest
Another RDX star signs on for DJ XVII.
16 November, 2012
We've had a bit of a flurry of guest announcements lately for Dimension Jump, the Official Red Dwarf Fan Club convention taking place in Birmingham next May. But that's largely because the fan club team have been doing a remarkably good job of snapping up Series X guest stars to make their debut appearances - and now that The Beginning has been broadcast, we can mention them without giving away great big plot spoilers.
First and foremost - and somewhat uniquely among the RDX guests in that it won't be his first convention - we're delighted to confirm that Richard O'Callaghan, Hogey the Roguey himself, will be making a repeat appearance.
Richard, of course, was a show-stopping guest in 2009 following his turn as The Creator in Back to Earth - a true raconteur, he captivated the audience with all manner of anecdotes from his and his family's many years in film and television. But having now joined the distinguished ranks of actors who've played multiple roles in the show, the Fan Club are delighted to welcome him back once more following his much-loved performance as Hogey.
He's not the only guest that the Series X finale will be providing, however - as an increasingly jam-packed line-up also includes Alex Hardy (Chancellor Wednesday), Simon Treves (Lecturer Rimmer) and Philip Labey (Young Rimmer). That's right - for the first time ever, there'll be three Rimmers at the convention. Blimey.
These names go onto a list that also includes (deep breath) Craig Charles, Chris Barrie, Robert Llewellyn, Danny John-Jules, Tony Hawks, Bill Pearson, Rebecca Blackstone, Sydney Stevenson and Isla Ure.
The convention takes place on 3rd-5th May 2013 at the Birmingham City Centre Holiday Inn. Places are limited, so if you don't want to miss out on the action, make sure you head on over to the Fan Club website to book your weekend pass. It's £65 if you're a fan club member, or £80 if not. See you there!

While Grant Naylor Productions fully supports the Dimension Jump convention, please note that it is not a GNP event, and is organised and run by the official Fan Club. Guest appearances may change subject to availability and unforeseen circumstances.
