Blu-ray In The UK

It's official - Back to Earth is coming to HD disc.

2entertain have announced the much-requested release of Back to Earth on the Bluray format. No word yet on whether we'll be seeing it on triangular video cassette.

Coming out in the UK on August 31st the set will be essentially identical to the DVD release, with the same collection of commentaries, documentaries and sundry bonus gubbins that made that release a best-seller back in June.

The big deal, of course, is that the 1080i picture quality (ask a convenient nerd) is out of this world. Much was made about the remarkable Red One camera during shooting, but it's really the quality of the cinematography and FX work that make Back to Earth a hi-definition visual treat. Now you'll be able to take in every tiny detail.

And as an added bonus the, erm, bonus material - not least the key two-part Making of Back to Earth documentaries - was, in many cases, also created for hi-definition.

While it's not yet been release, expect the artwork to mirror the DVD release - we'll update as soon as we have it.
